But the boundaries matter:

  • Need cards in 48 hours? A local print shop with in-house production will beat any national brand's shipping pipeline.
  • Need unusual formats? Non-standard die cuts, embedded elements, packaging integrations—those belong at a specialized commercial printer, not a greeting card catalog.
  • Need fewer than 50 cards? Printable cards or a local digital print shop beats a full production run on both cost and turnaround every time.
